2 Button Power Control Panel
La-Z-Boy South Texas’ 2 button power control panel adjusts your position with the two buttons alone. One button will recline your seat and back, while the other will bring you back upright.

3 Button Power Toggle
Our 3 button power toggles are associated with our power furniture with adjustable headrest. 2 buttons control your recline, while the other controls your headrest.
You can upgrade this version to a wireless remote as well.
4 Button Power Control
The 4 button power controls are associated with our base power furniture. 2 buttons control the independent leg rest, and the other two control the independent backrest.
4 Button Power Toggle
With the ability to upgrade to a wireless remote, 2 buttons control the independent leg rest, while the other two control the independent backrest. Our power furniture with adjustable headrest and lumbar support carry this type of toggle.
Tethered Remote
Our tethered remotes are only associated with our power recliners with massage and heat, in addition to our power lift recliners.
How to Use Each Power Control
Now that you know exactly what you’re working with, let’s walk through how to use each type of power control.
How to Use the 2 Button Power Control Panel
The La-Z-Boy South Texas duo collection is controlled by 2 buttons on the side of the furniture frame.
To recline back and lift the leg rest, hold down the front button closest to the USB port. To get yourself back into the upright position, hold down the back button.
Anytime you release pressure on either button, the motion will stop and the furniture will hold its current position.
How to Use the 3 Button Power Toggle
Our 3 button power toggles controls operate the independent adjustable leg rest, backrest, and headrest. There is also a home button and 2 buttons that operate as memory settings.
The toggle can be pressed forward or backward to power specific movement on the furniture, whether it’s a power reclining sofa or just a power recliner chair. At any time, let go of the toggle to set your favorite position.
The front bottom toggle is used to adjust the leg rest. Press and hold the toggle backwards to extend the leg rest, and don’t let go until you find your desired position. Press and hold the toggle forward to put the leg rest back in the stationary position.
The back bottom toggle is used to adjust the backrest. Press and hold the button backward to recline the back independently. Press and hold the toggle forward to return to a sitting position.
The top toggle is used to adjust the headrest. Press and hold the button forward to lift the headrest. Press and hold the button backward to return the headrest to its original position.
3 Button Power Toggle Memory Setting
What’s great about La-Z-Boy power furniture is whenever you find your favorite position in your power reclining loveseat and other furniture, you can save that position with our memory settings!
The front of the panel beside the 3 button toggle switch features a home button and two memory buttons.The two memory buttons labeled I and II are located on the top and bottom of the home button.
When you find your favorite position, hold down either the Memory or Memory II button until it beeps. The beep lets you know that your favorite position has been set, and you can access it anytime!
To access your preferred position later on, press and release the stored memory button and the power recliner automatically gets you to your desired position.
Press and release the home button and the power recliner automatically moves to its home position.
How to Use the 4 Button Power Control
The 4 button power control operates the independent adjustable leg rest and back rest. Power recliners like rocking recliners and wall hugger recliners feature this type of control system.
The front bottom button extends the footrest while the front top button reclines the backrest. The back bottom button returns the footrest while the back top button returns the backrest to an upright position.
If you prefer a hand remote rather than a control panel on the side, you can upgrade this power control to a tethered hand control. The hand control allows for more effortless usage as you don’t have to reach over the side of your chair.
The functionality is also the same with the tethered hand control, as the top 2 buttons control the leg rest while the bottom 2 control the backrest.
How to Use the 4 Button Power Toggle
The 4 button power toggle controls the independent adjustable headrest, backrest, leg rest, and lumbar support. It also features the home button and the 2 memory setting buttons.
It is mounted on the side of the frame, and the toggles function as the 3 button toggle switch mentioned earlier. The only difference is the extra toggle that controls the adjustable lumbar support.
The front bottom toggle is used to adjust the lumbar support. Press and hold the toggle forward to increase the lumbar support. In contrast, you’ll press and hold the toggle backward to decrease the lumbar support.
How to Use the Tethered Remotes For Power Furniture
As mentioned earlier in this article, La-Z-Boy South Texas’ heat and massage recliners and power lift chairs feature a tethered remote. Let’s walk through how to use each one of them.
Power Lift Chair Tethered Remote
La-Z-Boy power lift chairs are uniquely built to help those with mobility issues or chronic pain. Our lift recliners let you comfortably relax and recline, then securely assist you from a sitting to a standing position.
La-Z-Boy South Texas offers Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum power lift series options. The Bronze and Silver remotes operate and function the same, while the Gold and Platinum remotes have some changes and additional features.
Bronze and Silver Tethered Remotes
The Bronze and Silver Luxury-Lift Power Recliners have a tethered remote with two buttons, a recline button, and lift button.
The top button, labeled LIFT, is used to lift you to a standing position or return the chair to a seated position if reclined. Simply release the button to stop in any reclined position, or when fully upright.
The bottom button, labeled RECLINE, is used to lower or recline the chair. When you’ve found your perfect position, release the button to stop.
Gold Series Tethered Remotes
The Gold Luxury-Lift series has the ability to lift and lower with an independent legrest and backrest. It also features the heat & massage function as well.
With the heat controls, you’ll press and hold the right side of the HEAT button to activate the heat in the seat of the chair. Press once for low heat, twice for high heat, and once more to turn the heat off.
To activate the heat in the back of the chair, repeat the same pattern on the left side of the HEAT button.
To operate the massage controls, press the left side of the massage button to activate the back and seat function. Press once for constant massage, twice for wave massage, three times for pulse massage, and four times to turn the massage off.
To adjust the intensity, press the right side of the massage button. Press once for low intensity, twice for medium intensity, and three times for high intensity.
Platinum Series Tethered Remotes
The Platinum Luxury-Lift series is similar to the Gold Series chairs without the heat and massage function. They have the ability to recline and lift and the back and leg rest can be adjusted independently.
The large LIFT and RECLINE button are identical to the Silver Series remote. Simply press and hold the top of the button to return the chair to a seated position and lift the recliner for standing.
To lower the chair, press and hold the bottom of the button. The additional two buttons are used to adjust the back and leg rest independently.
Press and hold the right side of the BACK button to recline back. Press and hold the left side of the BACK button to return to an upright position.
Press and hold the right side of the LEG REST button to raise the leg rest. Press and hold the left side of the leg rest button to lower the leg rest.
It’s important to note that these buttons do not work while the recliner is in a lifted position.
